This paper describes the modelling of two Australian office buildings in a capital city using building simulation. The energy use predicted by the building modelling is compared with measured energy consumption data for twelve months of the building’s operation and the differences investigated.
The buildings were modelled using the US Department of Energy’s EnergyPlus building simulation software. The default values from NABERS Energy (formerly ABGR) validation protocol for computer simulations were utilised for levels and schedules of occupancy, lighting and equipment.
