This paper addresses the emerging trends in Post Occupancy Evaluation (POE), with a specific focus on sustainability. It explains the history of POE and how it has changed over time to reflect the trends in community, client and environmental thinking. The paper links the new POE approaches to the ‘quadruple bottom line’ and includes a checklist of the key factors that need to be measured in an integrated evaluation of the ethical, cultural, social, community, environmental and economic performance of facilities.
